Dharmesh Daya
Dharmesh Daya has been guiding since 2000, earning his Zimbabwe Professional Guides License in 2012. With over a decade of experience in iconic wilderness areas like Matetsi, Hwange, and Gonarezhou, he has built a reputation as a deeply knowledgeable and intuitive guide. He has also worked as a field guide at the prestigious Singita Pamushana Lodge, further honing his expertise in Zimbabwe’s most remote and breathtaking landscapes.
A career highlight for Dharmesh was working closely with the Malilangwe research team on conservation and community projects in one of Zimbabwe’s most pristine ecosystems. His passion for Africa’s wild places extends beyond just guiding—he has a keen eye for nature’s artistry, particularly in Mopane forests, which he describes with a photographer’s vision. The way light filters through the leaves, shifting between golden hues and deep greens, is something he captures regularly on his camera.
Dharmesh's most profound wildlife experiences have come from tracking animals on foot—where every sound, scent, and movement tells a story. From encountering a big elephant bull deep within a forest to leading adventurous guests over boulders toward a watering hole, only to witness a pride of lions and a wide-lipped rhino mother with her calf just 150 meters away, these moments define the thrill and raw beauty of a safari with him.
A safari with Dharmesh is an exercise in the art of being present. He has an eye for the details that bring the wilderness to life—whether it's the golden glow of the afternoon sun, the delicate patterns of a bird's feather, or the ancient brushstrokes of rock art hidden in the landscape. Whether guests are on a game drive, tracking wildlife on foot, or practicing traditional bushcraft skills, he ensures a deep and immersive connection to the natural world.
Dharmesh also takes great joy in photography, guiding guests to capture the perfect shot—one that not only preserves the moment but also tells a story. His ability to blend storytelling, conservation knowledge, and adventure ensures that each safari is unforgettable, deeply personal, and filled with wonder.
