Hamid Jusab

Hamid is a second-generation Kenyan with roots tracing back to India. His paternal ancestors, skilled craftsmen, arrived in Mombasa in 1897 to contribute to the construction of East African Railways and Harbours, a cornerstone of the British East African territory's development. His father, born in Mombasa in 1934, continued the family legacy in this vibrant coastal city.

On his maternal side, Hamid’s lineage reflects a heritage of education and service, with ancestors serving as postmasters across Kenya during the British Empire. They were also avid game hunters, guiding members of the British royal family on hunting expeditions in the early 19th century—a passion for wildlife that evolved in Hamid as a commitment to conservation.

Raised in the diverse and bustling society of Mombasa and spending much of his youth in the greater Tsavo region, Hamid developed a profound connection to Kenya’s flora and fauna. From the early 1980s, he embraced eco-tourism and hospitality, designing, building, and managing sustainable camps, lodges, and conservancies. His dedication to conservation has only deepened over the years.

With over 33 years as an Honorary Game Warden with the Kenya Wildlife Service, Hamid has committed his life to protecting Kenya’s natural heritage. As a licensed firearms holder, he specializes in armed guiding safaris, offering clients safe, close-up encounters with wildlife on foot, meeting the growing demand for immersive, natural experiences.

Hamid’s career has seen him host dignitaries, VIPs, conservationists, photographers, and travelers from all walks of life, earning him a reputation for charm, professionalism, and respect for diverse cultures and customs. Fluent in English and Kiswahili, as well as Hindi, Gujarati, Kutchi, and Urdu, Hamid’s linguistic versatility enhances his ability to connect with guests from around the world.

In addition to his extensive travel experience across Kenya, Tanzania, and beyond, Hamid holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. His personal interests include sport shooting, motorsports, motocross, photography, camping, fishing, and outdoor adventures.

Hamid’s story is one of heritage, dedication, and passion—a life devoted to bridging cultures, fostering conservation, and creating unforgettable experiences in the heart of East Africa.
